Künker sale 353, lot 4007
the Prussian Rhineland after the Congress of Vienna, with Düsseldorf as its capital

This specimen was lot 4007 in Künker sale 353 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €500 (about US$696 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BRANDENBURG-PREUSSEN, PREUSSEN, KÖNIGREICH, Friedrich Wilhelm III. 1797-1840. Die Münzstätte Düsseldorf. Taler 1818, D. Min. justiert, vorzüglich. (Germany, kingdom of Prussia, Frederick William III, 1797-1840, thaler of 1818, Düsseldorf mint. Minor adjustments, extremely fine.)"

This type was issued 1816-22 at Berlin and Düsseldorf (shown here) and is common in worn condition. It was not affected by the reform of 1821. The Düsseldorf mint operated until 1840.

Recorded mintage: 1,814,777, a common date.
