Künker Auction 439, lot 2382

This specimen was lot 2382 in Künker sale 439 (Osnabrück, March 2026), where it sold for €3,000 (about US$4,127 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"PREUSSEN, KÖNIGREICH Friedrich Wilhelm III., 1797-1840. 1/2 Friedrichs d'or 1814 A. GOLD. Sehr schön. (kingdom of Prussia, Frederick William III, 1797-1840, half friedrichs d'or of 1814. Very fine.)"

This type was struck 1802-06, 1814-16; this is the first issue since 1786. These coins saw hard use and are frequently found heavily worn.

Specification: 3.34 g, 0.903 fine gold, 20.5 mm diameter, this specimen 3,29 g.
