Prussia 1806-A 1/2 friedrichs d'or Fr-2424
This specimen was lot 3960 in Künker sale 353 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €850 (about US$1,183 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"BRANDENBURG-PREUSSEN, PREUSSEN, KÖNIGREICH, Friedrich Wilhelm III. 1797-1840. 1/2 Friedrichs d'or 1806, A. Brusbild in Waffenrock l. GOLD. Etwas berieben, schön-sehr schön. Exemplar der Lagerliste Münzen und Medaillen AG 347, Basel 1973, Nr. 70. (Germany, kingdom of Prussia, Frederick William III, 1797-1840, half frederick d'or of 1806, uniformed bust left. Polished, fine to very fine.)"
This type was struck 1802-06, 1814-16; this is the first issue since 1786. These coins saw hard use and are frequently found heavily worn.
