Künker sale 353, lot 3993

This specimen was lot 3993 in Künker sale 353 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €30 (about US$42 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BRANDENBURG-PREUSSEN, PREUSSEN, KÖNIGREICH, Friedrich Wilhelm III. 1797-1840. 4 Groschen (1/6 Taler) 1807, A. Sehr schön-vorzüglich. Erworben 1970. (Germany, kingdom of Prussia, Frederick William III, 1797-1840, four groschen or 1/6 thaler of 1807. Very fine to extremely fine.)"

This type was struck 1797-1809 and this is a fairly common date despite the disasters of the Napoleonic Wars.
