Künker sale 353, part of lot 4028

This specimen was part of lot 4028 in Künker sale 353 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), which sold for €150 (about US$209 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BRANDENBURG-PREUSSEN, PREUSSEN, KÖNIGREICH, Friedrich Wilhelm III. 1797-1840. Die Münzstätte Glatz. 3 Kreuzer 1807 G, 1808 G. Prägungen für Schlesien. ...2 Stück., Sehr schön. (Germany, kingdom of Prussia, Frederick William III, 1797-1840, three kreuzer of 1807, Glatz mint, struck for Silesia. [One of] two pieces, very fine.)"

The Glatz mint operated 1807-09 only, presumably while the Breslau mint was under French occupation. The emergency situation would explain the crude dies. This denomination is not mentioned in the SCWC. Provincial issues for Silesia ceased after 1810.
