This specimen was lot 77333 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, November 2025), where it sold for $288. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Silesia. 18 Kreuzer, 1756-B. Breslau Mint. Friedrich II. PCGS MS-63. Highest graded example by PCGS. Ex: George Gund III Collection (Stacks 1/2007) Lot # 3067." After Frederick the Great seized Silesia in 1742, he issued kreuzer denominated coinage for the province which did not directly convert into the thaler-based coinage used in the rest of the realm. One, three, six, 15 and 18 kreuzer were issued along with one and two groschel pieces. This type was struck 1755-58 and is the last of the denomination. Another 18 kreuzer struck in 1756 (KM 990) has Frederick's name but features the bust of Augustus of Saxony, king of Poland.
