Künker sale 353, lot 3452

This specimen was lot 3452 in Künker sale 353 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €1,100 (about US$1,531 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BRANDENBURG-PREUSSEN, PREUSSEN, KÖNIGREICH, Friedrich II. der Große, 1740-1786. 8 Gute Groschen 1755, F, Magdeburg. Mit verändertem Kopf. Seltener Typ in außergewöhnlicher Erhaltung. Leicht justiert, vorzüglich-Stempelglanz. Exemplar der Auktion Fritz Rudolf Künker 41, Osnabrück 1998, Nr. 909. (Germany, kingdom of Prussia, Frederick II the Great, 1740-86, eight good groschen of 1755, Magdeburg mint, local bust. Rare type in exceptional condition. Slightly adjusted, extremely fine-uncirculated.)"

This type was struck 1753-59, 1763. Tall and short busts were struck simultaneously but not normally at the same mint at the same time.
