Künker sale 353, lot 3272

This specimen was lot 3272 in Künker sale 353 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €5,250 (about US$7,307 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BRANDENBURG-PREUSSEN, PREUSSEN, KÖNIGREICH, Friedrich Wilhelm I. der Soldatenkönig, 1713-1740. 1/12 Taler 1713, IFS, Berlin. Mit der Signatur IF · S auf der Rückseite. Münzmeister Jobst Friedrich Sauerbrey. Von allergrößter Seltenheit. Winz. Schrötlingsfehler, vorzüglich. Erworben am 7.4.1995 von Manfred Olding, Osnabrück. (Germany, kingdom of Prussia, Frederick William I, the Soldier King, 1713-40, one-twelfth thaler of 1713, Berlin mint, with mintmaster's initials on the reverse. Of the highest rarity, minor field marks, extremely fine.)"

The attribution of this coin to KM 94 is tentative as that type is not photographed in the SCWC. Other varieties exist, such as KM 95, KM 96, KM 97 and 1713-CS (Berlin) and 1713-HFH (Magdeburg).
