Sincona sale 50, lot 1040

This specimen was lot 1040 in Sincona sale 50 (Zürich, October 2018), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,

"Brandenburg-Preussen, seit 1701 Königreich. Friedrich Wilhelm I. 1713-1740. 1/2 Dukat 1714 HFH, Magdeburg. Minimal gewellt. Sehr schön-vorzüglich. (Germany, kingdom of Prussia, Frederick William I, 1713-40, half ducat of 1714, Magdeburg mint. Slightly wavy flan, Very fine-extremely fine.)"

The SCWC notes two half ducats for 1714: KM 134, arms reverse, and KM 133, star of the Black Eagle reverse. They are priced the same. The last half ducat was minted in 1726. The issue of ducats dwindled after the introduction of the friedrichs d'or in 1740. The last quarter ducat is dated 1716.
