This type was struck 1975-85 as the communist regime in Poland slowly deteriorated under foreign debt and internal unrest. It was struck in Leningrad in 1975-78 but the rest were made in Warsaw. All dates except the 1978 are common. The denomination was terminated in 1990 with the collapse of the regime.
Recorded mintage: 25,379,000 plus 5,000 proofs.
Specification: 5 g, brass, 24 mm diameter.
