This specimen was lot 6051 in Goldberg sale 72 (Los Angeles, February 2013), where it sold for $115. The catalog description[1] noted, "Peru. 8 Reales, 1828-G (Cuzco). Republic. Liberty standing. Toned. NGC graded EF-45. The Victor Jaramillo Collection." This type was struck at Lima 1825-28 and at Cuzco 1826-29 and is rather common; the complete span of Peru standing liberty eight reales runs 1825-55. Assayer GM is recorded for the Cuzco mint 1826-27 as well as assayer G, who may be the same person.
