Künker sale 294, lot 3343

This specimen was lot 3343 in Künker sale 294 (Osnabrück, Germany, July 2017), where it sold for €1,225 (about US$1,651 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"Peru, Republik seit 1822. 8 Escudos 1828, Cuzco. GOLD. Henkelspur, kl. Schrötlingsfehler, sehr schön-vorzüglich. (Republic of Peru, eight escudos of 1828, Cuzco mint. Mount mark, some edge defects, very fine to extremely fine.)"

This type was struck at Cuzco 1826-45 and at Lima 1826-40 and 1850-55. This is one of the more available dates.
