This specimen was lot 45545 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Oklahoma City, OK, August 2025), where it sold for $240. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. 2 Reales, 1833-Zs OM. Zacatecas Mint. NGC Unc Details--Cleaned. From the Crosshill Collection." This is one of a type struck at the Zacatecas mint 1825-70. Assayer OM is recorded this mint for the years 1831-55. Other mints include Guanajuato, Mexico City, Alamos, Hermosillo, Guadalajara, Culiacan, Chihuahua, Durango, Potosi, Estado de Mexico, Real de Catorce and Guadalupe y Calvo. Only Oaxaca did not strike this type. This type, legal tender in the pre Civil War United States for a quarter, is common except in uncirculated. This is a common date of a common mint.
