The first specimen was lot 23264 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Chicago, August 2019), where it sold for $105. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. 8 Reales, 1833-Zs OM. Zacatecas Mint. NGC AU Details--Rim Filing. A somewhat crudely struck piece with good remaining luster, silvery toning, and minor rim filing that has not impacted the edging devices." Assayer OM (Manuel Ochoa and Manuel Miner) is listed for 1830-55. The Zacatecas eight reales from the thirties were usually crudely struck so nice specimens bring a premium.

Recorded mintage: unknown but common.

Specification: 27.07 g, 0.903 fine silver, .786 troy oz ASW.
