Stack's Bowers 2025 ANA sale, lot 41385

This specimen was lot 41385 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Oklahoma City, OK, August 2025), where it sold for $3,840. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. 8 Reales, 1833-Ca MR. Chihuahua Mint. NGC AU-55. Noted in Resplandores as a RARE date, this example is especially exceptional in this high grade; NGC notes just two finer (both at AU-58). Deep charcoal color with amber brilliance emerging from the fields behind the rays. An excellent strike to boot, with crystal-clear detail appearing on both sides. From the Crosshill Collection." The Chihuahua mint struck eight reales 1831-95. Many of the early dates are rare including this one.
