Künker sale 294, lot 4308

This specimen was lot 4308 in Künker sale 294 (Osnabrück, Germany, July 2017), where it sold for €420 (about US$566 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"REICHSSILBERMÜNZEN, MECKLENBURG-SCHWERIN, Friedrich Franz IV. 1897-1918. 2 Mark 1901. Sehr schön. (Germany, unified silver coinage, grand duchy of Mecklenburg-Schwerin, Frederick Francis IV, 1897-1918, two mark of 1901, very fine.)"

This one year type is scarce but not rare in circulated condition.

Recorded mintage: 50,000 plus 1,000 proofs.

Specification: 11.11 g, 0.900 fine silver, 28 mm diameter.
