Sincona sale 57, lot 2807

This specimen was lot 2807 in Sincona sale 57 (Zürich, May 2019), where it sold for 150 CHF (about US$179 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"DEUTSCHLAND | Empire | Mecklenburg-Schwerin, Grossherzogtum, Friedrich Franz IV. 1897-1918. 2 Mark 1904 A, Berlin. Auf seine Hochzeit mit Alexandra von Braunschweig-Lüneburg. g. . Polierte Platte.. Kleine Kratzer. (Germany, grand duchy of Mecklenburg-Schwerin, Frederick Francis IV, 1897-1918, two mark of 1904, Berlin mint, on the duke's wedding with Alexandra of Brunswick-Luneburg. Choice Proof, Small scratches.)"

This commemodative was accompanied by a five mark. It is the most affordable issue of the twentieth century for this state.

Recorded mintage: 100,000 plus 6,000 proofs.

Specification: 11.11 g, 0.900 fine silver, this specimen 11.12 g.
