This specimen was lot 32938 in Heritage sale 3064 (Chicago, April 2018), where it sold for $168. The catalog description[1] noted, "Saxony. Georg 2 Mark 1904 MS65 NGC. Some enticing trace colors are present on the obverse with lighter appealing gunmetal tones." This commemorative issued for the death of king Georg accompanied a similar five mark (Dav-504). Despite the smaller mintage compared to the regular issue (KM 1257), this type is much more available.
Recorded mintage: 150,000 plus 55 proofs plus 1,265,333 of KM-1257.
Specification: 11.11 g, 0.900 fine silver, 28 mm diameter.
