Sincona sale 57, lot 2852

This specimen was lot 2852 in Sincona sale 57 (Zürich, May 2019), where it sold for 600 CHF (about US$714 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"DEUTSCHLAND | Empire | Schaumburg-Lippe, Fürstentum, Georg, 1893-1911. 2 Mark 1904 A, Berlin. Gutes vorzüglich. Feine Patina. (Germany, principality of Schaumburg-Lippe, George, 1893-1911, two mark of 1904, Berlin mint. Good extremely fine, Nice toning.)"

This type was struck 1898 and 1904 only and is rare. It was accompanied by a silver five mark (Dav-911) and a gold twenty mark. A three mark of 1911 (KM 55) ended the series.

Recorded mintage: 5,000 plus 200 proofs.

Specification: 11.11 g, 0.900 fine silver, this specimen 11.10 g.
