This specimen was lot 33866 in Heritage sale 3076 (Long Beach, CA, September 2019), where it sold for $480. The catalog description[1] noted, "German States: Lübeck. Free City 2 Mark 1901-A MS65 NGC, Berlin mint. A coin with an incredible depth of age and aesthetic beauty that displays full cartwheel luster whirling effortlessly over quartz surfaces." This type was struck 1901 only.
Recorded mintage: 25,000 plus proofs.
Specification: 11.11 g, 0.900 fine silver, 28 mm diameter, reeded edge.
