Sincona sale 43, lot 2187

This specimen was lot 2187 in Sincona sale 43 (Zürich, October 2017), where it sold for 1,250 CHF (about US$1,492 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"Sachsen-Weimar-Eisenach. Grossherzogtum, Wilhelm Ernst, 1901-1918 2 Mark 1901 A. Berlin Zum Regierungsantritt. Leicht berührt. Polierte Platte. NGC PF63 Cameo. (grand duchy of Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach, William Ernest, 1901-18, two mark of 1901, Berlin mint, on his coronation. Some hairlines. Choice Proof.)"

This one year type is rather scarce.

Recorded mintage: 100,000 plus a few proofs.
