Künker sale 354, lot 6376

This specimen was lot 6376 in Künker sale 354 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €90 (about US$125 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"REICHSSILBERMÜNZEN, SACHSEN-WEIMAR-EISENACH, Wilhelm Ernst, 1901-1918. 2 Mark 1903. Hochzeit. Vorzüglich. (Germany, duchy of Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach, William Ernest, 1901-18, two mark of 1903, wedding of the duke, extremely fine.)"

This date is common despite the modest mintage. It was likely saved because of the commemorative. It accompanied a similar five mark (Dav-848).

Recorded mintage: 40,000 + 1,000 proofs.

Specification: 11.11 g, 0.900 fine silver, reeded edge, 28 mm diameter.

Catalog reference: KM 217, J. 158.
