Künker sale 386, part of lot 5232

This specimen was part of lot 5232 in Künker sale 386 (Osnabrück, March 2023), which sold for €300 (about US$388 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BRAUNSCHWEIG-CALENBERG-HANNOVER, AB 1692 KURFÜRSTENTUM HANNOVER, Georg III. 1760-1820. 2/3 Taler (24 Mariengroschen) Lot. 2/3 Taler (24 Mariengroschen) 1763, 1800, Clausthal. Dazu: 1/3 Taler 1804, Clausthal. Welter 2817 (2x), 2828. 3 Stück., Vorzüglich und besser. (electorate of Hannover, George III, 1760-1820, two-thirds thaler or 24 mariengroschen of 1763 and 1804. Included is a 1804 one-third thaler. Three pieces, extremely fine and better.)"

This gulden, with the arms on the obverse and the value on the reverse, was struck 1761-1801 and counts as one of the most common minors of this state. Another gulden, KM 347 with the wild man reverse, was also struck in 1763.
