This specimen was lot 74570 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, September 2023), where it sold for $240. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Brunswick-Luneburg: Hannover. 24 Mariengroschen (2/3 Taler), 1764-IAP. Zellerfeld Mint. Georg III (George III of Great Britain). PCGS AU-58. This lightly-circulated example offers pleasing, uniform argent and lustrous surfaces. From the Robert C. Knepper Collection." This type was struck 1762-84 for George III and reverts to the 24 mariengroschen denomination after two-thirds thalers were struck for George II. We also note KM 341 (shield/value) for 1764.
