This specimen was lot 55582 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Pittsburgh, PA, August 2023), where it sold for $432. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Brunswick-Luneburg: Hannover. Taler, 1739-IBH. Zellerfeld Mint. Georg II August (George II of Great Britain). PCGS EF-45. From the Robert C. Knepper Collection." George II issued four different thalers in 1739, two with mintmaster initials "IAB". This fairly scarce wild man thaler, struck 1730-44, has the British arms on the obverse without the lion supporters used on Dav-2090.
