Steve Album Auction 53, lot 3051

This specimen was lot 3051 in Steve Album Auction 53 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2025), where it sold for $1,320. The catalog description^[1] noted, "GERMANY: Third Reich, AR 5 reichsmark, 1934-D, Potsdam Garrison Church, a lovely proof quality example! PCGS graded Proof 63, ex Joe Sedillot Collection." This type, the first overtly Nazi coin, was struck at all six mints (A, D, E, F, G, J) 1934-35 and was accompanied by a two mark. This five mark was also struck with a commemorative date (KM 82) during 1934.

Recorded mintage: 6,303,000 plus proofs.

Specification: 13.88 g, 0.900 fine silver, .401 troy oz ASW, 29 mm diameter.
