This specimen was lot 35524 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Chicago, August 2022), where it sold for $780. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Third Reich. 5 Mark, 1934-F. Stuttgart Mint. PCGS PROOF-64 Deep Cameo." This type, the first overtly Nazi coin, was struck at all six mints (A, D, E, F, G, J) and was accompanied by a two mark. This five mark was struck without the commemorative date (KM 83) during 1934-35.
Recorded Mintage: 401,000.
Specification: 13.88 g, 0.900 fine silver, 29 mm diameter.
