This specimen was lot 1251 in Stephen Album sale 32 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2018), where it sold for $258.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY: Weimar Republic, 5 pfennig, 1924-E, PCGS graded Proof 66." The rentenmark and its subdivision the rentenpfennig were used 1923-24. Many issues minted during that time are today rare altho this type is rare only in proof. This denomination was superseded by the five reichspfennig (KM 39) struck 1924-26, 1930 and 1935-36.

Recorded mintage: 12,206,000.

Specification: 2.5 g, aluminum bronze, 18 mm diameter.
