Steve Album sale 55, lot 828

This specimen was lot 828 in Steve Album Auction 55 (Santa Rosa, CA, May 2026), where it sold for $312. The catalog description[1] noted, "FRANCE: Louis XVI, 1774-1790, AR écu aux branches d'olivier, Rouen, 1789-B, 9 in date over another digit, nicely toned, PCGS graded EF40." This product of the Rouen mint is slightly scarce.

Recorded mintage: 235,000.

Specifications: 29.48 g, 0.917 fine silver, 41 mm diameter, lettered edge.
