This specimen was lot 1847 in Sedwick Treasure Auction 38 (Winter Park, FL, November 2025), where it sold for $84. The catalog description[1] noted, "CUBA, Havana mint, proof 5 pesos, 1988, 150th anniversary of the Grand National Theater, NGC PF 67 Ultra Cameo, ex-Busto. Mintage of just 2,000 coins. Frosty, detailed depiction of Cuba's Grand National Theater on this nice Ultra Cameo-designated proof commemorative coin. Pedigreed to the José O. Busto Collection." The Havana Great Theater was built in 1838, named as Gran Teatro Tacón, later renamed as Estrada Palma (honoring the first Republic president), and today is "El Gran Teatro de La Habana García Lorca", honoring the great Spanish writer murdered by Franco.
