This type was issued 1874-1885 under the new decimal system of 100 centavos = 1 peso. The denomination is written as 'CINCUENTA CENTAVOS'.

The first specimen was part of lot 25654 at Heritage sale 3014 (Chicago, April 2011), where it sold for $218. The catalog description[1] noted, "Bogotá 1874-83 10-piece 50-Cs set, KM 177.1 with 'Cincuenta'. 1874, 1875, 1876, 1877, 1878, 1879, 1880, 1881, 1882 and 1883. Very Fine to Almost Uncirculated. From The Dana Roberts Collection." The second specimen was lot 42022 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Philadelphia, August 2018), where it sold for $216. The catalog description[2] noted, "COLOMBIA. 1873-B 50 Centavos. Bogotá mint. AU-55 (PCGS). Both sides display superb lustrous cartwheel and attractive faint golden toning. Some minor hairlines are present, but the eye appeal is excellent. Well struck and choice. From the Eldorado Collection of Colombian Coins."
