This specimen is one of a type struck at the Bogotá mint 1872-74. This specimen was part of lot 31967 in Heritage sale 3040 (Chicago, April 2015), which sold for $493.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "Republic Lot of 25 Minors, Denominations, dates, and grades vary. Close inspection is a must." It is readily available in the worn condition shown here. Ten centavos with a cornucopia reverse (KM 175.1) are also noted for 1874. Silver ten centavos were struck until 1886 and again in 1897.
