This type was issued 1874-1885 under the new decimal system of 100 centavos = one peso. The denomination is written as 'CINCUENTA CENTAVOS'. This specimen was part of lot 25654 and sold on April 18, 2011 for $218.50 at the 2011 April Rosemont Signature World & Ancient Coins CICF Auction #3014 by Heritage Auctions. The catalog description[1] noted, "Bogotá 1874-83 10-piece 50-Cs set, KM 177.1 with "Cincuenta". 1874, 1875, 1876, 1877, 1878, 1879, 1880, 1881, 1882 and 1883. Very Fine to Almost Uncirculated. From The Dana Roberts Collection."
