Steve Album Auction 53, lot 1456

This specimen was lot 1456 in Steve Album Auction 53 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2025), where it sold for $4,800. The catalog description[1] noted, "CHINA (PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC): AV 100 yuan, 1994, Chinese Zodiac Series - Year of the Dog, contains one troy ounce of pure cold, NGC graded Proof 69 ULTRA CAMEO." Other one hundred yuan for 1994 included KM 440, 523, KM 529, 566, KM 615, 618, 645, 646, KM 647 (year of the dog, scalloped edge), 653, 658, 672, 681, KM 682, 699 and KM A615.

Recorded mintage: 1,800 proofs.

Specification: 31.10 g, 0.999 fine gold, 32 mm diameter.
