This specimen was lot 4798 in Goldberg sale 69 (Los Angeles, May, 2012), where it sold for $437. The catalog description [2] noted, "German States - Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel. 2 Talers, 1855-B. Wilhelm. Toned. NGC graded AU-55." Most double thalers are rare and expensive but this one, struck 1850-55, is fairly common.
Recorded mintage: 620,000.
