Künker sale 335, lot 3804

This specimen was lot 3804 in Künker sale 335 (Osnabrück, Germany, March 2020), where it sold for €420 (about US$550 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BRAUNSCHWEIG UND LÜNEBURG, BRAUNSCHWEIG-WOLFENBÜTTEL, Wilhelm, 1831-1884. Taler 1854, B. Vorzüglich-Stempelglanz. (Germany, duchy of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel, William, 1831-84, thaler of 1854, extremely fine to uncirculated.)"

This type was struck 1853-55 to the Prussian standard (22.27 g, 0.750 fine silver). Subsequent issues were vereinsthalers.
