This specimen was lot 22357 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Anaheim, CA, August 2016), where it sold for $399.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Brunswick-Wolfenbuttel. Taler, 1866-B. NGC MS-63. Medium golden orange toning over very lustrous metal. Only a handful of contact marks keeping this from a gem grade." This type of 1858-59 and 1865-71 is the most available thaler from this state in the nineteenth century, whose coinage had virtually ceased when this issue appeared.
