This specimen is from a one year type issued to commemorate the twenty-fifth anniversary of the reign of Duke Wilhelm (1831-84). The line became extinct upon his death and the duchy passed to Prussia. Like most double thalers, this type is scarce and expensive.

Recorded mintage: 17,000.

Specification: 37.12 g, 0.900 fine silver, 1.07 troy oz ASW.
