This specimen was lot 74520 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, September 2024), where it sold for $125. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Brunswick. 2 Pfennig, 1854-B. Brunswick Mint. Wilhelm VIII. PCGS MS-63 Red Brown. A type not often encountered, this near-Gem glistens with red-brown flair and stands as the only example of the type in the PCGS census." This type was struck 1851-56 and is fairly common. Altho "pfennig" is the modern spelling, we have used "pfennige" as stated on the coin.
