This specimen was lot 3950 in Goldberg sale 104 (Los Angeles, June 2018), where it sold for $144. The catalog description[1] noted, "German States: Brandenburg. 2/3 Taler, 1691-WH (Cleves). Friedrich III, 1688-1713. Toned. PCGS graded EF-45. From the Ora Eads Collection." This type was struck 1690-92 and is rather scarcer than other gulden struck at the time in Berlin or Magdeburg. It was accompanied by a 1/12 thaler (KM 35). While thalers for the late 1600's are rare, Brandenburg gulden are numerous and come in many varieties.
Recorded mintage: unknown.
Specification: silver.
Catalog reference: Dav-281; KM-36.1 (listed under Cleves).
