This specimen was lot 68 in Schulman auction 389 (Amsterdam, December 2025), where it sold for €170 (about US$240 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "German States - 2/3 Thaler 1693 ICS, Silver, FRIEDRICH III 1688-1701, BRANDENBURG Magdeburg mint. Bust right. Rev. crowned combined arms. Ex Cherry Tree Collection. PCGS Genuine AU Details. Environmental damage." This gulden was struck 1690-94 at Minden (mintmaster BH), not Berlin (mintmaster LCS). This variety has the mintmaster's initials under the bust; another (KM 558) has them on the reverse. The final third of the seventeenth century saw a profusion of issues of this denomination.
