This specimen was lot 3170 in Sincona sale 64 (Zürich, June 2020), where it sold for 500 CHF (about US$627 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"SWITZERLAND | Bern | Stadt und Kanton, Kreuzer 1796, Bern. Sehr seltener Jahrgang. Vorzüglich-FDC. (city and canton of Bern, kreuzer of 1796, Bern mint. Very rare date, Extremely fine-uncirculated.)"
This is a rare date of an otherwise common coin struck 1755, 1765, 1772-81, 1785, 1789-93, 1796-97. It was accompanied by half kreuzer (KM 122), batzen (KM 87) and ten kreuzer (KM 158).
