Sincona sale 98, lot 4144

This specimen was lot 4144 in SINCONA Auction 98 (Zürich, May 2025), where it sold for 450 CHF (about US$653 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SCHWEIZ Bern, Stadt und Kanton, Taler 1796, Bern. Seltener Jahrgang. Vorzüglich-FDC. (Switzerland, city and canton of Bern, thaler of 1796, Bern mint. Rare date, About Uncirculated.)"

The SCWC records this for 1795-97 with the 1797 being the rare date.
