This specimen was lot 32275 in Heritage sale 3076 (Long Beach, CA, September 2019), where it sold for $1,560. The catalog description[1] noted, "Switzerland: Bern. Canton gold Duplone 1796 MS61 NGC. A solid piece with good luster and an saffron-gold patina. The strike is bold and clean, and the surfaces offer a good deal of reflectivity with very few contact marks. From the Allen Moretti Swiss Collection." This type of 1796 is accompanied by a double duplone (Fr-181). A duplone was worth about two ducats.
