This specimen was lot 37524 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2025), where it sold for $65. The catalog description[1] noted, "AUSTRIA. 6 Kreuzer, 1848-A. Vienna Mint. Franz Joseph I. PCGS MS-63." This billon coin, worth 1/20 of a thaler, was struck at Vienna, Kremnitz and Prague. Altho this is a one year type, it is common. Francis Joseph took the throne in 1848, replacing his epileptic uncle, Ferdinand.

Specification: 2.23 g, 0.428 fine silver, 19.5 mm diameter.
