This specimen was lot 32435 in Heritage sale 3042 (Long Beach, September 2015), where it sold for $446.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "Franz I gold Ducat 1830-E MS62 NGC. Karlsburg, (E), mint. A praiseworthy example of this elusive type with abundant golden luster and a bold strike." This type was issued 1825-31 from Vienna (A), Kremnitz (B), Karlsburg (E) and Günzburg (G). The SCWC lists this under Austria but Friedberg lists this under Hungary.

Recorded mintage: unknown but a common date.

Specification: 3.49 g, 0.986 fine gold, .109 troy oz AGW.
