Sincona sale 87, lot 2944

This specimen was lot 2944 in Sincona sale 87 (Zürich, October 2023), where it sold for 550 CHF (about US$741 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"RDR / ÖSTERREICH, Franz II. (I.), 1792-1835. Dukat 1830 A, Wien. Vorzüglich. (empire of Austria, Francis II, 1792-1835, ducat of 1830, Vienna mint. Extremely fine.)"

This type was struck 1825-31 at Vienna (mintmark "A"), Kremnitz ("B") and Karlsburg ("E") and is common.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 3.49 g, 0.986 fine gold, this specimen 3.46 g.
