Künker sale 386, lot 6001

This specimen was lot 6001 in Künker sale 386 (Osnabrück, March 2023), where it sold for €1,300 (about US$1,680 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"KAISERREICH ÖSTERREICH, Franz I. 1804-1835. Dukat 1830, B, Kremnitz. Feingold. GOLD. Attraktives, vorzügliches Exemplar. Exemplar der Auktion Fritz Rudolf Künker 260, Osnabrück 2015, Nr. 2195. (empire of Austria, Francis I, 1804-35, ducat of 1830, Kremnitz mint. Attractive extremely fine example.)"

This type was struck 1825-31 at Vienna (mintmark "A"), Karlsburg (mintmark "E"), Kremnitz (mintmark "B") and Günzburg (mintmark "G") and is common. Gold ducats were struck throughout Francis' long reign and come in many types.

Recorded mintage: unknown but a common date.

Specification: 3.49 g, 0.986 fine gold, this specimen 3,44 g.
