Sincona sale 46, lot 792

This specimen was lot 792 in Sincona sale 46 (Zürich, May 2018), where it sold for 650 CHF (about US$780 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"Osterreich, Franz II. (I.), 1792-1835. Dukat 1830, Kremnitz. Vorzüglich. Leicht justiert. (empire of Austria, Francis II (I), 1792-1835, ducat of 1830, Kremnitz mint. Extremely fine, Minor adjustment marks.)"

This type of 1830-35 is noted as fairly common. Ducats were struck for Hungary as late as 1881.

Recorded mintage: unknown but a slightly better date.

Specification: 3.50 g, 0.986 fine gold, .110 troy oz AGW, this specimen 3.49 g.
