Hungary 1830-A thaler Dav-121
This specimen was lot 4409 in Sincona sale 34 (Zürich, October 2016), where it sold for 800 CHF (about US$950 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"HOLY ROMAN EMPIRE - AUSTRIA. Franz II. (I.), 1792-1835 Madonnentaler 1830. Wien Randschrift: IVSTITIA REGNORVM FVNDAMENTVM. Selten in dieser Erhaltung. Fast FDC. Leicht justiert. (Empire of Austria, Francis II, 1792-1835, madonna thaler of 1830, Vienna mint, lettered edge. Very rare in this condition, About uncirculated, Minor adjustment marks.)"
This type was struck 1830-33 only and is scarce. The last thaler struck specifically for Hungary was issued in 1839.
